Current faculty role
Dr. Schopp is licensed as a psychologist
in the state of Missouri and is currently a clinical assistant professor in
the Department of Health Psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia
School of Health Professions. The department provides clinical health, rehabilitation,
and neuropsychological services to individuals with physical and cognitive
disabilities, including inpatients and outpatients ranging from child to geriatric
populations.
Dr. Schopps primary clinical duties include rehabilitation research and neuropsychological evaluation of inpatients and outpatients with cognitive dysfunction (brain injury, stroke, dementia, epilepsy, etc.).
Dr. Schopps research includes teleconferencing applications to serve people with disabilities and extension of health care services to underserved rehabilitation populations (e.g. women, rural residents). She has recently published in a variety of neuropsychology and rehabilitation journals.
Dr. Schopp was selected as a Switzer Research Fellow by the National Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research for her work in using innovative telecommunications applications to expand service access for rural residents with disabilities. She serves as principal investigator of a Field Initiated Demonstration program in telerehabilitation from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research. She was also a Co-Principal Investigator and primary investigator of two projects of the Missouri Model Brain Injury System (Brick Johnstone, PhD, Principal Investigator).
